Bird Song
This piece is an example of using one's imagination to look at an item to see its possibilities, and using it to create a work of art. It was on exhibit at the Gallery of Contemporary Mosaic Arts from 1/20-3/4, 2023. It is currently featured in the CMA2 International Show New Zone Gallery in Eugene, Oregon from April 30-May 31, 2024. |
At Your Side
Our Earthly Angels are there to protect us. This belief is centered around spirituality, often when we have the need for inner healing. We call on our Angels when we look for kindness, for peace, or for comfort. I created this piece to express that a loving spirit is beside us, holding us up, helping us through the best and worst of times. Healing minerals and gems were incorporated into the design. It is currently featured in the CMA2 International Show New Zone Gallery in Eugene, Oregon from April 30-May 31, 2024. |
Never Enough
This is the second piece in my “The Mind of the Caregiver” series. The first dealt with my spinning while dealing with my mom’s aging. This piece deals with after her passing. There’s just never enough time to deal with grief and change when life goes on in spite of us. The noise in our head: thoughts, lists, words spoken, details to remember, all getting jumbled inside. My piece is my response to ‘Noise’. That search for personal peace, acceptance, and strength to find enough… Exhibited at Stola Contemporary Art Gallery in "Absurdity- In Dada We Trust" from 6/24-8/6, 2023 |
The Angels Amongst Us
My Thank You. To the helpers that took us through the wrath of the pandemic. To husbands, wives, families, neighbors, medical staff, workers, strangers... Who held our hands, ran to emergency calls, stayed with us through the worst of life. To my husband, sons, sister, and daughter-in-law who went daily into their hospitals in masks, hazmat suits, and shields. The bravery and courage of these Angels is unparalleled. Exhibited at CMA2 2022 in "Patterns and Connections" Jurors Choice Award Exhibited at Arts Center of Highland Park "In View" 12/15-1/27 2024
Upcoming Exhibit: Deerfield Public Art Program Art Collection 5/2024-5/2025, on display at Deerfield Village Hall |
Just Too Much
I am called “The Sandwich Generation," trying to balance life. We give our time to aging parents, spouses, children, grandchildren, jobs, and the stresses of getting through the day. Our well-being and mental health are so often neglected. We try to get by while often being overwhelmed, overworked, overstimulated... constantly feeling like we need to be on top of it all. These two pieces were created during a time I felt the struggles to navigate life remain hopeful. After our personal ‘fires’ I wish for optimism for regeneration and growth. Exhibited at CMA2 2021 in "Seasons of Life" Jurors Choice Award In a private collection. |
Welcome to America
We are a country of refugees. Fleeing religious persecution, seeking political asylum, escaping poverty, searching for a better life...
We come clinging to our dreams of acceptance and hope. When did coming to America mean to separate families looking to us for help? When did coming to America mean we rip children from their parents? When did coming to America mean it is alright to put children in cages, frightened, alone, confused, sent to live with strangers? Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Belize, Mexico, fleeing to our open arms? When did this become who we are as a country ? This resulted in 2,300 children to be separated from their parents. Some children are forever lost in the system, never to see their families again. This piece was created in response to the Trump May 2018 executive order “Zero Tolerance”. |
It was exhibited at the Gallery of Contemporary Mosaic Arts in from 1/15-3/7, 2018.

After the Fire
There are fires all around. No matter the cause, be it actual fires, family issues, political turmoil, world crisis, or any of the problems that cause us struggle, it is so important to hold on to hope. It is my goal, through this piece, to project optimism in the ability for regeneration. After our personal Fires comes the sprouts of new growth. Exhibited at CMA2 "Seasons of Life" 10/23-12/11, 2021 Exhibited at the Gallery of Contemporary Mosaic Arts "Class Act- Breaking Not Bad" 2022. |
